DIMAPUR, MARCH 20 (MExN): The Rengma Hoho today said that till such time the government amends the Nagaland Municipal Act 2001, Section 120 and 123 “Tax on Lands and Buildings” by abrogating it from the Nagaland Municipal Act 2001, the Rengma Hoho and its frontal Organizations shall restrain its members from participating in the Town Election within the Tseminyu District. This was decided in an executive body meeting on March 20 at Tseminyu.
A press release from the Rengma Hoho said that it however stands on the 74th Amendment Act 1992 (iv) “Reservation of seats”. The Rengma Hoho further expected that the Government of Nagaland will not discount the special provision, Article 371 (a) of the Constitution of India.
