'Rengmas are true lover of peace'

Dimapur, March 4 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN, Rengma Region in response to the resolution adopted in the joint consultative meeting on February 25 at Tseminyu has appreciated the Rengmas for their assurance to continue in maintaining peace in their area.
The meeting was attended by Rengma NGOs comprising of Rengma Hoho, Rengma Officers Forum, Rengma Mothers Association, Rengma Students’ Union, Council of Rengma Baptist Churches and all Naga Political Groups.

The chairman of Rengma Region, GPRN/NSCN in a press note stated: “ I would like to extend my gratitude to all the Rengma leaders for their concerned and zeal for upholding peace in the Rengma areas in particular and the state of Nagaland in general. The contribution of the Rengmas towards the Naga political struggle can also be appreciated. Since the dawn of Naga political issue till date, the Nagas have faced so many ups and downs and many innocent bloods were shed. However, by the grace of God, in all these difficulties, the Rengmas have proved to be the true lover of peace. I can proudly say that peace prevails in the land of Rengmas till date. God save us from shedding brethren’s blood in our land”
The note also stated that the most important resolution is stopping bloodshed in Rengma country and upholding the spirit of unity and covenant of reconciliation process amongst the Naga political groups and propagation of the same spirit in all parts of Nagaland. “Keep it up, till the whole Nagas are united and the covenant of reconciliation is fully achieved.”
The GPRN/NSCN has also extended its full support for total prohibition on selling, buying and using of alcohol/intoxicants/liquor in Rengma area.  Adding that action will be enforced for successful implementation of the same. For which it has also appealed the law enforcing agencies of the state government for corporation.
“It is our sincere prayer that peace should prevail not only in the land of Rengmas but to all nook and corner of the State Nagaland. Likewise, all Nagas and all frontal organisations should strive for better peace in Nagaland. The recent Naga political group killing in Arunachal and Myanmar is a serious concerned for all peace loving citizens. For God sake stop killing and give peace a chance. May the spirit of unity and covenant of reconciliation live up to the expectation of all Nagas in days to come,” the note said.
