KOHIMA, MAY 10 (MExN): The Ministry of Defence has categorically denied a report circulating online titled “37 Indian soldiers killed by Naga separatists.” In a statement issued by the Press Information Bureau (Defence Wing) on Saturday, the Ministry termed the news, published on the website europe404.com on May 9, as "totally false, baseless, and malicious," especially in light of the prevailing security situation in the region.
“It is clarified that no such incident has occurred. The report is entirely fabricated and appears to have been posted with the intent to mislead the public and create unnecessary alarm,” the Defence Ministry stated.
Media outlets have been urged to verify all news related to security matters from authorised government sources before publication. The rebuttal was issued by the PRO and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Defence, responsible for Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh.
