Response to allegation leveled against Rotomi Village

In pursuance to the decision of the elders of Rotomi Village in its meeting held at Kohima on December 8, 2012, the Rotomi Welfare Dimapur, after careful examination, inquiry and appraisal of allegations leveled against the Gaon Bura and Rotomi Village, with a view to remove any misgivings and to put mattes in proper perspective, hereby clarify as follows:-

1. Sri. Mughato Achumi of Awotsakilimi Village, a defeated Congress candidate during the last election, has lodged as many as four complaints on electoral roll and census both Rotomi New and New Village. Village Elders of Rotomi Village led by GB Sri Hukato Shoho called on the Awotsakilimi Village Elders on July 7, 2012 and apprised them that Sri. Mughato Achumi has ben targeting the Rotomi Village with various allegations without any concrete reasons. The meeting was amiable and ended with thanksgiving.

2. On November 9, 2012 Sri. Hukato Shohoe, Gaon Bura and some of the members from Rotomi Welfare Zunheboto called on Sri. Henito, President ACC 32 A/C Atoizu at his residence at Zunheboto to clarify certain unacceptable allegations against Rotomi Village. There was no instance of misbehavior, threat or abuse to Sri. Henito as alleged and published in local media.

3. It is further clarified that the allegation that, on December 23, 2012 Sri Hukato Shohe had threatened Sri Henito with dire consequences if allegations against Rotomi Village as published in the Sumi Zumulhu Newspaper issue of December 2, 2012 is not withdrawn, is absolutely untrue as Sri Henito was not at Zunheboto on that day.

4. The elders of Rotomi Village stand for the welfare of Atoizu area and its citizens as a whole. As such revision of electoral roll in respect of 32 Atoizu Assembly Constituency, if undertaken, should be consistent and all inclusive and not done selectively for the greater interest of the constituency and not individual villages.

The Rotomi Welfare Dimapur in the greater interest of all concerned, condemn the leveling of unfounded allegations against any individual or village to the extent of personalization of individual persons by a certain group for their own vested interest and would be compelled to take legal action should any one of the group of people continue to harass our villager and any of its members henceforth.
