Mon, July 25 (MExN): The Mopong Hongkong Public Forum (MHPF) has made an appeal to the State government for “immediate retention of Mopong EAC under ADC Tobu” on or before August 15.
The Forum stated that the transfer of Mopong EAC Hq under SDO (Civil) Angjangyang was made without consulting the MLA and public of 55AC Tobu and 48 AC Moka in the year 2014.
Since then, all necessary documents stating the public aspiration of Tobu and Mopong by both Administrative officers and civil societies have been submitted to the State government time and again, it said.
The MHPF further recounted that, in a notification issued by the State Home Commissioner, Nagaland on January 20, 2020, a Committee for reversion of Mopong EAC Hq from Angjangyang SDO (C) Sub-Division to ADC Tobu Sub-Division under the Chairpersonship of Commissioner Nagaland was constituted.
Subsequently, a meeting was convened by the Chairperson of the Reversion Committee at the Commissioner’s Chamber on February 4, 2020 where all the apex organizations from Tobu, Mopong and Angjangyang were invited to give their honest statements, so that decision could be made after taking the views and opinion in to consideration, it noted.
“However till date no updates about the meeting held on 4th February has been shared with us,” the Forum stated and reminded the State government regarding the retention of Mopong EAC under ADC Tobu administration before August 15, 2021.
