Dimapur, May 7 (MExN): The (former) president of the Nagaland Janata Dal (United) S Lima Temjen today expressed shock that the state unit has been dissolved. He has requested a review of the decision, while warning to file a defamation suit “for defaming my name and reputation in the paper.”
Earlier, the general secretary of the party had informed to have taken “this extreme step” as the state unit headed by S Lima Temjen was given “sufficient time to complete the membership as well as the organization’s election” but failed to “comply.” The party had then informed to have appointed Mhonjan Lotha as convener and was assigned to complete the membership drive as well as organize elections within July 15.
In a letter addressed to the national president of the JD (U) Sharad Yadav, Temjen said the reason given through the general secretary “blaming me” for the dissolution “is totally wrong and unjustified.” Referring to Mhonjan Lotha’s appointment, Temjen said till today, Lotha has not submitted the “completion of membership campaign.” Over this, Temjen wondered “so how can I conduct organization election?”
Requesting a review of the decision dissolving the Nagaland unit of the JD (U), the former president cautioned that “I may be compelled to sue defamation case against the person responsible for defaming my name and reputation in the paper.”
