Revoke decision to send positive patients to various districts: NPF

DIMAPUR, JUNE 3 (MExN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) has asked the State Government to revoke the Cabinet’s decision to “send positive patients to various districts,” and revise the current Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

This was one of the resolution adopted by the NPF during a meeting at the Leader of the Opposition, TR Zeliang’s residence with NPF officials and MLAs on June 3.

The meeting further noted that the decision of the State Government to send off returnees to Tuensang from Kohima was a disastrous step and termed the handling of the matter as “most unfortunate.”

It also criticized the Government’s imposition of a COVID-19 cess on petrol and diesel despite opposition from numerous quarters resulting  in sharp price-rise of all the commodities and further burdening the common person.

The party further asked the State Government to provide seeds for crops as the people were not able to cultivate on time due to lockdown throughout the country also demanded economic stimulus for small and marginal businessmen as well as entrepreneurs.

Meanwhile, the NPF appreciated health workers, village councils, Church bodies, community based organisations and all others who are working on the frontline.

It reassured that the party would “continue to safeguard the interest and well-being of the citizens in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.”
