The golden jubilee celebration of Riinguzumi Youth Association (RYA) kicked started today under the theme ‘Redefining Youth’ at Rünguzu village under Phek district.

Gracing the inaugural ceremony, Nagaland CAWD & Taxes Advisor Küdecho Khamo called upon the youth to have willpower to face the various challenges ahead. The Advisor maintained that the strength of mind is the supreme element to succeed in life.

 He lauded Rünguzumi for its honest approach and leadership qualities in different fields.

He commended the invaluable contributions of Padmashree M Vero, first Rajya Sabha MP from Nagaland; Chonyi Chakhesang, first Deputy Commissioner amongst the Chakhesang tribe; Rev Khrutsoyi Luruo, former State Chaplain; and NPF Central working president Pusazo Luruo; all from Riinguzu village.

Touching on the importance of sports, he encouraged the youth not to take it as a mere hobby or for leisure but to focus on professional line. Maintaining that sports stars have become increasingly famous in the modern society, he encouraged the youth to focus on individual events like Wushu, taekwondo, Karate, Judo etc.

He also urged upon the youth to stay connected with the fast paced competitive world in education, sports and business sectors. “There is no room for lazy people in today’s competitive world,” Khamo said, adding that hard work is the only answer to succeed in this competitive world.

Stating that meritocracy has been put in place, he said that there is no more backdoor appointment.

In this, he challenged the youth to develop competitive spirit and work hard to excel in the competitive exams.

Vekhoyi Chakhesang, Deputy Secretary, Food & Civil Supplies, Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection, Govt of Nagaland released RYA’s Golden Jubilee souvenir.

Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) president Vezhodiiyi Nakro and NPF (Central) Nagaland working president Pusazo Liiruo also spoke on the occasion.

Earlier, RYA president Küvekhwü Ringa delivered presidential address. The inaugural session was chaired by Vekhozo Ringa, Convenor, Planning Committee.

Meanwhile, jubilee championship tournament, featuring men football & women volleyball will be held on December 19. Colony tournament has been scheduled from December 20 to 23.
