Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today said that during the last four years of T.R. Zeliang and Dr. Shurhozelie's chief ministership the state witnessed crisis after crisis and corruption was practiced to the core.
Rio said this while addressing PDA rally for Lok Sabha bye election at Phek town. He said that student scholarship, teachers salary and VDB fund which was kept pending by TR Zeliang was released within no time of PDA coming to power. He also said that there was no road development during TR and Shurhozelie time.
Rio said BJP central leadership breaking 15 years relationship with NPF was a clear sign that they have lost trust on NPF leadership due to corruption, deceit, crisis after crisis and working against the public interest which led to riots and even death of youths and injury to many.
The government should work according to the interest of the people and not against by hurting the people's sentiments, he said.
Stating that PDA government is here to stay and shall deliver all its promises made to the people, he called upon the people to join hand and work towards progress and peace.
PDA candidate Tokheho Yepthomi stated that if elected to the Lok Sabha, he will serve the people with outmost sincerity and made a humble plea to all the PDA partners and supporters to vote in favour of NDPP Globe symbol.
He stated that Neiphiu Rio is the tallest leader among the Nagas and PDA government is here to stay. Dr. Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire, advisor rural development stated that central leadership has confidence and trust on the leadership of Neiphiu Rio.
People should come and join the government and not the opposition which leadership is weak and divided, he said.
Minister for planning & coordination and land revenue Neiba Kronu stated that Tokheho Yepthomi being the most seasoned and senior leader, is the best candidate to represent the people in the Parliament. He said people should not be deceived by the lies of NPF.
“The PDA Government is running smoothly. Nobody want to face crisis anymore. Nobody want to work under weak leadership anymore,” he said.
BJP Nagaland former president P Chuba said that BJP is not against Christian but NPF has been spreading communal propaganda which is not a good politic.
He said we all are Christians and will go to heaven only if our conduct is right and not through any political party.
