
Kohima, February 19 (MExN): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has condoled the demise of R Kothandaraman, Legal Advisor to the Government of Nagaland who passed away after suffering a massive heart attack today at Chennai. Late Kothandaraman was born in 1959 and served in various capacities in the Lok Sabha Secretariat, Meghalaya, Goa and Nagaland Legislative Assemblies.
In a condolence message, Rio said that “Raman, as we fondly called him, was known to me personally for almost 2 decades…As a prolific thinker and writer, he authored a number of books regarding parliamentary procedure,” it added. Even as the Nagaland Legislative Assembly is gearing up for the 3rd Session (Budget Session) to be held from February 21, Rio said “we were eagerly looking forward to his presence in the State. The tragic news of his sudden demise has come as a rude shock to one and all.” The Chief Minister on behalf of the Government of Nagaland, the NLA and his family conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family members. He prayed that Almighty God will grant strength and solace in this hour of grief, and eternal peace to the departed soul.
