KOHIMA, DECEMBER 11 (MExN): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Monday congratulated the people of Nagaland on the successful conduct of the 24th edition of the Hornbill Festival which concluded on December 10.
“The Hornbill Festival has always been a celebration of cultures, traditions and the vibrant spirit of Nagaland. The attention to detail, the diverse range of activities and performances, and the seamless integration of various elements showcased the rich tapestry of Nagaland’s heritage,” Rio said in a congratulatory letter addressed to Temjen Imna Along, Minister for Tourism & Higher Education.
Rio said the festival not only provided a platform for cultural exchange but also contributed significantly to the socio-economic growth of the region adding that the positive impact it had on the local communities, businesses, and tourism sector is commendable. The “Festival of Festivals” has not just become an annual event but a beacon of unity, promoting harmony and understanding among people from different walks of life, he upheld.
The CM also commended on the contributions and sacrifices of all sections especially the people of Nagaland from all walks of life, the cultural troupes and artists for their unwavering dedication and hard work in making the festival a resounding success.
He also extended gratitude to the thousands of tourists-international, domestic and local- who have visited the dozens of festival venues and events and added to the success story. “We are indeed glad that we had so many well-wishers and guests visiting us and we hope that they will become true ambassadors of Nagaland and the Naga people despite our many shortcomings,” he stated.
Rio also complimented every organizations, group and individual who have made positive contribution towards the success of the festival. Towards this, he urged the Minster for Tourism, Temjen Imna Along to convey sincere appreciation and gratefulness of the State Government to all the government agencies, tribal organisations, NGOs, civil societies and church organisations, event management groups and participants who positively contributed towards the grand success of the Hornbill Festival 2023.
