Rio gives Rs 40 lakhs for ‘eldest son Tuensang’

TUENSANG (MExN): Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio today assured a sum of Rs 40 lakh towards the construction of a rest house in Tuensang Town. He made this commitment during the silver jubilee celebrations of the Tuensang Town Council (TTC) which was commemorated here today. Rio unveiled the jubilee monolith at the TTC office premises. Speaking to the gathering, Rio mentioned that Tuensang was the oldest district in Nagaland and said, “Tuensang is the eldest son of Nagaland.” He further reiterated that the DAN Government was putting in its best efforts towards ushering in permanent peace in Nagaland while maintaining that peace and development exist today due to the “grace of God.” He also pressed upon the administration, NGOs, and civil societies of the town to beautify and to make Tuensang Town a more peaceful and cleaner town. He gave away a sum of Rs.2, 25,000 to the TTC. 

Releasing the Jubilee Souvenir, the Guest of Honour P Longon, Minister of PHED described Rio as a God-sent Chief Minister for the people of Tuensang District. He thanked the C/Khel of Tuensang Village for giving the present land many years back where the Town is now established. Others present during the function were Kuzholuzo, Minister for Agriculture, Doshehe Y Sema, Parliamentary Secretary, MLA Nyemli Phom, MLA Heno, Lakiamong, the Chairman of the Development Authority of Nagaland, and Director Land Resources.
