Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today campaigned for NPF candidate of 60 A/C Kiphire at the local ground in presence of thousands of supporters and party men. Addressing the massive crowd, Rio said that the long pending political solution of the Nagas is going on with Delhi and the underground.

Sharing the vision of the party, Rio said, “NPF party is working for the welfare of the Nagas across border and the states and because of this NPF party has contested in Manipur where the problem of the Nagas is heard. NPF party is also going to involve in neighbouring states like Assam and Arunachal so that political integration will be there amongst Naga. No party in Nagaland has talked about the Naga problem in Myanmar. However, NPF party have gone even to Myanmar and addressed the Naga problem.”

Rio also said, “Congress in Nagaland is a divided house and no party in Nagaland has changed its leader like congress in past few years and even today they are fighting for leadership instead of working for the welfare of the people. Congress and BJP is a medium size party in India, which cannot form a government of its own but needed help from other regional parties.”

Asking the gathering to vote for NPF candidate, Rio said that in the next MP election in India congress party would get only 162 MP seats, which is far below the required seats to form the government and therefore, will need the help of regional parties like NPF.

The Chief Minister also said that ‘in 2003, 2008 and 2013 Naga political problem, youth employment and development issue dominate the manifesto where the pictures of the chief minister and party president are featured. However, in congress manifesto no Naga leader’s picture is featured as the party is still fighting for leaders amongst themselves.’

Rio also said that many parties have come to Nagaland and contested but after election, they all disappear but NPF party, which speak for Naga identity, culture, and right have reach 50 years and is going to celebrate golden jubilee this year which shows the strength of the party.

Rio further assured that if NPF candidates from 59 and 60 A/C are elected and if his party comes to power, they will be given important portfolio and asked the gathering to send the representatives, which can bear fruit for them. He also added if elected to power Chingwang Konyak would be his political advisor that is equivalent to cabinet minister.

Chingwang Konyak, former congressmen who also address the gathering said, “I cannot live in divided house anymore so I have left the congress party and is in NPF camp. Congress will not come to power. Others who spoke at the rally were T. Torechu intending candidate NPF 60 A/C, Chubala women wing NPF, vice president divisional unit NPF and other of host party men.
