State Chief Minister Rio today termed the dissidents’ attempt to dislodge him from the chair as a ‘farce’.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the inauguration of the reconstructed Circuit House today, Rio said that the NPF legislators or DAN legislators never had a meeting. He termed a complete farce Therie’s claim of being made Sessional Chairman of DAN legislator party.
“I don’t understand. It is their own making”, Rio asserted, adding that the whole drama created by the 6 dissidents NPF was a mockery. He said that misusing undated signatures ‘is unfortunate.’
The Chief Minister also went on to state that if the disgruntled NPF MLAs want to leaders of the people, the latter should not try to come through back door, but face the mandate of the people.
Reacting to the allegation of horse-trading leveled against his party, Rio rubbished the charge as cheap propaganda to create confusion amongst the people of the state. He said that the amount of Rs 30 lakh each was given to the 14 legislators under the CM Corpus Fund to identify and construct roads in their respective constituencies. As such the dissidents charge of horse trading with the money is an allegation without any substance. He also stated that the department issue clarifications.
To change or not to change the leadership of DAN coalition is not in the hands of the state Government, but is in the hands of the DAN legislators, Rio also added.
Rio inaugurated the reconstructed Kohima Circuit House at a simple function, which was redone at the cost of Rs 72 lakh. With the inauguration of this circuit house the state capital may slightly improve in housing state guests and tourists.
The Circuit House which was constructed way back in 1973 has not been used for 19 years as guest house although it was used as a lodging place for some officers.
Rio, while urging officers to make proper use of the house, expressed hope that it would lessen the problem of accommodation in the state capital.
