Phek, October 27 (DIPR): A road safety awareness programme was held at Phek Town Council Hall on October 26. Deputy Commissioner, Phek, Kovi Meyase, speaking at the programme said many people die due to the road accidents, and encouraged the gathering to abstain from mixingdriving with intoxicants. He called on imparting proper skills, sensitization of traffic rules, besides checking maintenance of proper age and other qualifications before issuance of driving license.
Sr. Motor Vehicle Inspector, Wokha, Er. Arenbo Peter delivered the keynote address. President, Chakhesang Public Organization, Kekhwengulo Leahspoke on the topic “Road safety awareness and responsibilities of the citizens” while, SDPO, Phek, Monach Kumar, IPS,dwelled on the topic “Traffic rules and regulations.”District Transport Officer, Phek, A.Takomeren pronounced the vote of thanks. Participants also undertook a pledge at the programme.
