Congress Legislator K V Pusa  with the Holy Child School's faculties and students at the inauguration of the new building of the school today, April 7.

Kohima, April 7 (MExN): Congress Legislator and former president of Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee K V Pusa said Roman Catholicism is much more than a religion.
Speaking at the inauguration of new building of Holy Child School at Veterinary Colony, Dimapur Pusa said Catholicism is a charitable house, educational organization and also a refuge for the poor and the downtrodden, provides medical and health services and humanitarian agencies render services to all mankind without discrimination in race colour and tribe or religion. He said mankind has much benefitted because of all these humane services and sacrifices rendered by people who volunteer to work without any particular benefit, but just for the bare necessities of life.
“This principle of sacrifice is one of the main reasons why they have been able to provide quality services at reasonable rates for the good mankind” the congress leader said. He said urged people of all religions to come and support their cause in their effort to make the world a better place. He said this is also in conformity with the concept of the welfare state.
He said apart from individuals and non-governmental organizations, governments and countries, especially the developing nations, including India have come to know of the contributions made by the Roman Catholic churches.
Therefore he said Holy Child School Dimapur is also an extension of the universal vision which is also another arm of the “great body” of the Catholic Church stretching out to the people of Nagaland. He said inauguration of a new building reflects the progress of the school. “The efforts of the school administration will not go unrewarded” he added.
He also urged the people to extend their cooperation and support to the school authorities and the school is for them adding that the contributions to the school would only come back to them as rewards.
Pusa said there is hardly any person or group in the world which has not been directly or indirectly benefited by Roman Catholic institutions and this is because the church is not only widespread but also covers all important aspects of human development and welfare.
Most Rev. Dominic Lumon DD of Imphal also spoke in the programme.  Special songs, dances and cultural fusion marked the special programme.
