The Rongmei people as a whole is hard pressed with the inevitable process and progress of change Evolution in tone with the current transitional world. The people everywhere are facing changing crises, confusions, contentions, as well as discontentment with what they are now. The wind of change is affecting them for greater development and higher growth in the order of natural laws of change. The people need not be surprised or negatively perceived of the current changing phenomenal wind. The change must be welcomed; embraced and involved for out of this process shall the people come out refined and organised.
The Creator has designed humankind with a purpose to ascend from animal family or bestial level onto height of spiritual and intellectual estates of achievement or attainment. This designed may be called the law of change. Without change, growth and development is impossible. Nature silently, leads man to growth from simpleton to complexities of universal height through change.
The RONGMEI NAGA UNION from the beginning of its formation to the naming of RONGMEI COUNCIL three states(AMN) has now on staged as RONGMEI PEOPLE ORGANISATION(RPO) Northeast India as changed and adopted at the Rongmei People General Assembly held on the 17th October 2012 at Rangkhung Village Tamenglong District. However, Insertion of the Word ‘NAGA’ a national identity attached with the tribal identity in the name to be called the RONGMEI NAGA PEOPLE ORGANISATION (RNPO) is under analytic consideration and is in the process of public referendum subject to approval of the People General Assembly to be convened at the earliest convenient. Till then and henceforth, the RPO shall be the name of the Rongmei people Apex body covering the three states, including Mizoram and elsewhere. The RPO shall be the Parental and guardian organisation of the Rongmei individuals, societies, Churches, NGOs, frontal groups, and students’ bodies in the Northeast Region and world-wide. There shall be means of networking, communication, and systems of info-service facilities to connect and intact with all the people and organisations within and without.
The change of the people’s organisation was necessitated with the changing phase of people development in all field of human growth and development tempered by the current world of hi-technological input and change of wider-broader mental outlook of the people. The Rongmei People like the rest of the people of the world is growing constantly through a changing process knowingly or not. The process and speed of organisational growth differs from time to time, people to people and leader to leader as all things are being designed and put to its natural purpose of the Creator centring around His plan to happen in His own season.
The incumbent office of the Rongmei People Organisation shall function primarily with the will and aspiration of the Rongmei people from all places and occupations through and by means of consultation, hearing and sharing of information, opinions and suggestion from the people. The officials shall work and implement the will, desire and vision of the Rongmei people and Naga Nation in full faith and confident in the unfailing leading hand of God the father. The RPO focus at strengthening the bond and affinity of Zeliangrong people in all possible spheres without feeling a resentment, prejudices or classification from the commonness of the people. The RPO shall strive toward maintaining and promoting unity, solidarity, brotherhood and spirit of one Naga Nationalism.
The people may kindly feel free to find access to the officials/meet the person for any query, suggestion, correction or input and avoid unfounded criticism, gossiping, faultfinding, backbiting which are but a cankering disease that destroys the society, Individual’s interest, spirit and enthusiasm of leaders who are put to responsible position and places. The people shall promote and practice a culture of giving appreciation, gratitude, tolerance, saying only good things of others, patient listening, understanding and loving-kindness, for these are the ethical and moral principle that creates and crown honour, dignity and gain respect of persons. We are the people and community of this world. We shall promote humanness and global order in the spirit of Universal human rights as one of active participants and citizens communities of the world.
The RPO shall officially maintain ‘keep a distant relation policy ’ from all armed groups, organisations or factions keeping in view of the People’s Corporate vision constant in mind never to deviate or degrade the status, identity and image of the people in any manner.
The Rongmei People Organisation in its Central Executive Meeting held on the 1st Nov.2012 at Kakhulong Paona Bazaar Imphal expressed discontentment and dismay over the ruthless activities prevailing in Tamenglong district caused by factional gun fight in public places. The Organisation out-rightly condemned and denounced such inhumane activities of the so-called national workers or defenders of the land and people as trouble makers and not Nation builders. The Organisation appeals to the warring groups to stop and refrain from such fighting and re- maintain the status-quo of the people and their respective National or factional groups bringing back the prestige, Peace, confidence and goodwill support of the people concerned as in recent past.
