
Dimapur, October 13 (MExN): Rotary Club of Dimapur held its official District Governor's Visit on October 11. During the visit, various projects were inaugurated by the District Governor of RI District 3240 Rtn Dr Kushanava Pabi, First Lady Rtn Jaya Pabi and Assistant Governor of Zone XII RID 3240, Rtn Ellendra Thoudam.
A press release received here stated that tree plantation was done in Chümoukedima district. On request of the Deputy Commissioner Chümoukedima, Government Middle School Tenyiphe-1 was adopted by the Rotary Club of Dimapur under the Happy School programme to develop various facilities in the school from infrastructure and drinking water to sanitation and libraries.
Solar street lights, terrace garden and free drinking water facility were inaugurated in Rotary Center, Midland for the community around.
In the evening, DG Rtn Dr Kushanava Pabi addressed a press conference along with AG Rtn Ellendra Thoudam, ARRFC Rtn Chandu Agarwal, President of RC Dimapur Rtn Manish Jain, Secretary of RC Dimapur Rtn Prashant Agarwal and treasurer of RC Dimapur, Rtn Arijit Sharma.
The official meeting of the District Governor's visit started at 7:00 pm by the MOC Rtn Vijay Sharma where the Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Bokajan, Anoop Kumar was also present. Medical help of Rs 5000 each was provided to two poor patients and a wheelchair was donated to one old disabled poor lady by the Rotary Club of Dimapur.
President Rtn Manish Jain welcomed the gathering highlighting the various permanent projects of RC Dimapur, AG Rtn Ellendra Thoudam emphasised the importance of public image projects and Secretary Rtn Prashant Agarwal gave a brief report of the various projects done in the last three months. Awards won by the Rotary Club of Dimapur and its members at the District and International levels were given by the District Governor.
DG Rtn Dr Kushanava Pabi addressed the gathering stating the values, principles, strategic objectives, areas of focus, plans and goals of Rotary, the theme ‘Imagine Rotary’ and the faith which Rotary has in the younger generation to lead us to our dreams of achieving peace, education, health and prosperity for all.
ARRFC Rtn Chandu Agarwal threw light on the Rotary Foundation and asked members to contribute as much as possible. Club Treasurer, Rtn Arijit Sharma delivered the vote of thanks.
