RPF-NFR nabs 4 in HSD oil theft case

Maligaon, April 30 (MExN): The Railway Protection Force of the Northeast Frontier Railway (RPF-NFR) on April 29 arrested four individuals in connection with the theft of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) oil.

The oil was stolen from a generator brake van attached to train no. 12067 UP at Guwahati Railway Station, and the arrest was made after a memo was received from a Senior Section Engineer of the station.

Acting promptly on the information, RPF officers and staff conducted a swift raid and search operation, resulting in the apprehension of four culprits and the recovery of 10 litres of stolen HSD oil, informed an NFR release.

In connection with the incident, a case has been registered and the arrested persons were produced before the Special Railway Magistrate (SRM), Guwahati.

Upon the request of the Enquiry Officer (EO) of RPF/Guwahati, they were remanded to judicial custody, and all four accused have been sent to Central Jail, Lokhra, Guwahati, the release added.

The RPF-NFR also reaffirmed its dedication to the protection of railway property and the safety and security of rail operations, and informed that in March alone, 19 persons were caught for theft, while 22 have been apprehended in April.
