RPF of NFR rescues 4 minors

Gauhati, June 23 (MExN): The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has rescued 4 minors during routine checking on June 20 and 21 at different railway stations over the zone, an official release informed. 

The first occurred on June 20 when the RPF team of Meri Saheli/New Jalpaiguri rescued one minor boy during a routine checking at the station. The same team also rescued another minor girl on June 21. 

Meanwhile, in Dimapur, a RPF team rescued one minor girl from Dimapur station on June 21 while the  RPF team of Katihar (East) also rescued another on the same day. 

The rescued minors were handed over to respective guardian/Childline for their safe custody and further course of action, informed the release from NFR CPRO. 

A new initiative under “Meri Saheli” has been initiated over the NFR and it is functioning round the clock to make aware women/child passengers about the safety/security and use of helpline no. 139 in case of any exigency, it added.
