RPF/NFR rescues minor  boy, kidnapper arrested

Maligaon, September 12 (MExN): A 9 year old boy was rescued by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) on September 11 from the Dibrugarh railway station. According to a press release from NFR CPRO Subhanan Chanda, on receipt of information, the personnel acted promptly and rescued the minor and arrested the kidnapper before they boarded the train.

The kidnapper identified as Raju Chhetry from Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh, reportedly ran away with the minor without the consent of his parents. On getting the information, the Assistant Sub Inspector, RPF/NFR S Pangging conducted a search at the Dibrugarh station with his staff and managed to apprehend the kidnapper along with the boy. The minor boy is reportedly from Dewpani, Roing, Lower Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh. Both of them were later handed over to GRP/Dibrugarh for further course of action as per law, the release added. In another incident, on receiving information about touting activity from the Danapur Division of East Central Railway, RPF/NFR conducted a joint raid with the local police of Bahadurganj. During the raid, one person Fakar Ali Nazami (26) was arrested from his shop for unauthorised procuring and supplying of Railway e-tickets as well editing the tickets. 19 future railway e-tickets, valued at Rs 57,008.20, one HP brand laptop, one mobile handset (Redmi Note 9 Pro with twi SIM cards) and one laptop connector were seized. A case has been registered in this connection at RPF/Post/Kishanganj  on September 11 under section 143 of the Indian Railway Act.
