RPP calls out BJP and allies for failing to question Home Minister Shah's statement

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 10 (MExN): The Rising People’s Party (RPP) has called out the Nagaland State unit of the BJP along with the NDPP and the NPF for failing to “publicly correct, let alone question or condemn, Home Minister Amit Shah’s fabricated statement in the Lok Sabha regarding the killing of 14 innocent Nagas at Oting.”

“The continued silence of BJP Nagaland and its frontal organisations on Amit Shah’s condemnable statement have been absolutely deafening so far,” a press release from the RPP said.

The RPP contrasted this with the “recent uproar” of BJP Nagaland and its Mahila and Yuva Morcha cells against the Punjab government for the security lapse which led to Prime Minister Narendra Modi being stranded for 15 minutes in Ferozepur, Punjab.

“The helter-skelter scenes of Nagaland BJP organisations and leaders trying to outdo each other in condemning the Channi government in Twitter, Facebook and other social media platforms is perhaps part of the job, but what is un-digestible for the Naga public is that none of the same BJP organisations and leaders dared question their high command when Amit Shah poured lies in the Indian Parliament,” the RPP pointed out.

It said that this “double standard” has hurt the sentiments of every patriotic Naga and angered all right-thinking citizens as well. “Perhaps, the BJP Nagaland thinks that 15 minutes is more important than 15 lives and it seems to be on track,” the RPP stated.

While stating that “sycophancy and ‘nautanki’ have been part and parcel of Indian politics,” the RPP said that the Nagas in BJP “seem to have taken it to another level.”
