
Dimapur, September 1 (MExN): The Rising People’s Party (RPP) today said that it was most unfortunate that a church was allegedly vandalised and the pastor’s car set on fire in Tarn Taran district of Punjab on August 30 by mischievous elements bend on creating communal disharmony with no respect for the secular spirit of the country.
In a letter to the Punjab Chief Minister, the RPP President Joel Naga also expressed gratitude for his prompt condemnation and swift assurance that nobody will be allowed to disturb the harmonious brotherhood of Punjab.
“It impossible to evade the conclusion that this mischievous act is a conspiracy to malign your popular government,” the party noted.
Such provocations, whether politically motivated or otherwise, is condemnable and it’s hoped that the Aam Aadmi Party government of Punjab with leave no stone unturned to arrest and expose the conspirators, it added.
The RPP further expressed hope that the AAP will continue to be in the forefront defending Christians and minorities in the country at at a crucial juncture when intolerance has “become the order of the day thanks to majoritarian politics.”
“The AAP represents perhaps the idea of an India and the RPP wishes your party all the best in your future endeavor,” it added.
