Rs 1 lakh crore funds has been given to Nagaland in the last 9 years; 2.8 time of what Nagaland got during the previous similar time period of 2004-14.

This was stated in a leaflet distributed during the observance of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra today in Kohima, organized by Kohima Municipal Council under the title ‘Committed to the Development of Nagaland’ (Hamara Sankalp Vikasit Bharat- Government of India). 

The document also informed that over 863 kms of National Highways has been constructed in Nagaland. 

Meanwhile, 2.35 metric tonnes of free foodgrains have been distributed to the people of Nagaland under the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (April 2020- October 20230.

On the area of creating basic infrastructure for the poor, it stated that 91,000 Ujjwala gas connections was done ensuring smoke-free kitchens; 30,000 houses built under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana; and 2.9 lakh tap water connections made.

On empowerment of women, 91,000 plus free LPG connections were given to women from BPL households; 64% of over 1.2 Lakh MUDRA loans given to women; 90% of total completed PMAY- Gramin houses belongs to women or are joint owners; 21,000 accounts opened for girl children under Sukanya Samriddi Yojana; and more than 1.13 lakh women and children received benefit under Sahi Poshan, Desh Roshan.

In the area of Ayushman Bharat, over 6.3 lakh Ayushman cards have been created. Meanwhile, 384 Health & Wellness Centres have been made operational, providing free & universal primary health care to the people, it was stated.

Under the PM Bharatiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana, quality medicines have been made available at affordable prices and 20 Janaushadhi stores operational, the leaflet informed.

On farmer welfare, under PM Kisan direct income support of Rs 6000 per year is being given, 2 lakh farmers get benefit of over Rs. 478 crore; and  over 5672 Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samriddhi Kendras have been established.

Regarding social security for the marginalized, 3.82 lakh bank accounts have been opened to facilitate financial inclusion under PM Jan Dhan Yojana; 3.66 lakh enrolments for accident insurance scheme under PM Suraksha Bima Yojana made, 1.61 enrolments under PM Jeevan Bima Yojana offering one year life insurance scheme renewable from year to year; over 29,000 people have subscribed  to Atal Pension Yojana; and over Rs. 3.69 crore has been given to provide affordable working capital loans to 2,159 beneficiaries under PM SVANidhi Yojana.

Further, it was informed that a budget outlay of Rs. 195.5 crore for development of Tribal Circuit Peren-Kohima- Wokha and development of Mokokchung- Tuensang- Mon under Swadesh Darshan scheme has been made.

Meanwhile under Start Up India, 47 recognized start ups have been set up, promoting an entrepreneurial mindset through innovation, incubation and incentives, facilitates easier compliances, smoother processes and legal handholding and over 53% startups are women-led.

On Skilling and upskilling of youth, 42,000 youth have been trained under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana and over 6,000 candidates have been trained under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana.

Another development the leaflet cited was the establishment of Nagaland’s second railway station after a gap of more than 100 years; and the new BG Line from Dimapur to Zubza (Kohima).

With respect to rights, opportunities for tribal communities, the leaflet stated that 712 students were enrolled in 3 Eklavya Model Residential schools; scholarship of more than Rs. 320.9 crore to over 4.4 lakh tribal students was distributed; bamboo has been taken out of regulatory shackles by amending the Indian Forest Act, boosting bamboo cultivation and sale and for the first time ever; and Development and Welfare Board for De- Notified, Nomadic and Semi- Nomadic Communities has been constituted.
