RSON organizes amateur badminton tourney

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 29 (MExN): The Rongmei Students' Organization Nagaland (RSON) organised an amateur badminton tournament in the men's double Category from November 27 to 28 at Chungaizaeng Rongmei Colony, Burma Camp.

The tournament was held under the theme ‘Brotherhood through Sports.’ It saw the participation of 32 teams from Dimapur and Peren. On the second day, G Namgai, Advisor, Rongmei Council Nagaland witnessed the matches as special guest alongwith the President and Finance Secretary of the Rongmei Council Nagaland. 

During the tournament, the RSON also awarded merit certificate to Guikhanliu Malingmei,  State Subject Topper in B.Com(Management) exam conducted by Nagaland University in September/October 2020.

During the 2 days tournament Lanu Imsong and William emerged as champion pocketing a cash prize of Rs 12,000 alongwith medals and certificates. Ikato Ayemi and Anahito Assumi were the runner up and received Rs 6,000. Renchio Patton and George Zote came third and were awarded Rs 3,000 while Vitoka Awomi and Bokato Assumi placed fourth and were given Rs 2,000.
