The RSZ kicked off a new campaign to support the demand for a separate district of Tseminyu on October 1.

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 1 (MExN): The Rengma Selo Zi (RSZ) today launched a programme called ‘The Voices’ to amplify the demand for a separate district of Tseminyu.
The campaign was launched at Kasha-Touphema peace treaty camp at the NH-61 on October 1. “This initiative is a democratic means of expressing the dreams and aspirations of the Rengma community in support of the demand for Tseminyu district which is being spearheaded by the Rengma Hoho (RH),” informed a press release from the RSZ.
The initiative was launched by Jonathan Mesen, Secretary, CRBCYD, Zunpha, in the presence of Kenneth Kath, President RSZ, and representatives from amongst the Rengma youth. Jonathan Mesen said that Tseminyu district has been a long-cherished dream of every Rengma person, adding that “if we find favor from God, we will definitely find favor from people.” He urged members present to remain steadfast in prayer in their quest for the district demand.
The campaign collected views from people across different spectrums who expressed their desire for a separate district of Tseminyu. Among them was former MLA, Er Levi Rengma, who said: “I appeal for my fellow Naga brothers’ and sisters’ prayers and moral support…Rengmas need your support. We are all created by God in his own image. Don’t discriminate us.”
Jwensenle Kesen, national Sepaktakraw player also sent a message of support. She stated: As a sportsperson I strongly support the Tseminyu district demand and feel that granting a district will help create greater opportunities for the younger generations to explore their potentials not only at the state and national levels but even at the international level.”
Under the programme, banners and posters were put up at multiple locations across Tseminyu sub-division depicting the various messages of support.
