Nagaland’s Land Resources Department has promoted rubber plantations in nine districts covering a total area of about 19,469.46 Ha. till 2025-26 with convergence of fund from PMKSY-WDC, NEC and State Schemes including RIDF.
During 2025-26, the department has promoted rubber plantation in five new areas with a total area 170.16 Ha. under State Plan in convergence with Rubber Board scheme (See box).
About 96 Ha. was taken up under PMKSY-WDC 2.0 and about 74 Ha. area was developed under State Plan.
This was stated in the Annual Administrative Report 2025-26 of Land Resources department, tabled in the recent 8th session of 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) in Kohima.
Post-harvest processing support on Rubber
Further, the Department, with funding support from NABARD RIDF-XXVIII & NEC project provides Rubber Sheet Rollers to group of growers where the plants have attained maturity, in its drive for increased production of sheet rubber in the state.
During the year, the Department procured and distributed 187 No. of rubber sheet rollers to rubber growers in the state with funding support from NABARD, RIDF -XXVIII under the project titled “Economic upliftment through Rubber sheet rollers” and NEC project titled “post-harvest support on rubber sheet processing for value addition
