
Kohima, Sept 29: The Tea Board of India has changed the rules of submission as well as processing of applications for availing subsidy under Tea Board’s Plantation Development for small Tea Growers of the Northeast.
From 1st April 2006, all applications for financial assistance in the form of subsidy under the Tea Board’s Plantation Development will be entertained only after issuance No Objection Certificate (NOC) after conducting pre approval inspection. This means that farmers interested to cultivate tea should first get pre-approval NOC from the Tea Board before any field operation/commencement of tea planting after the 1st April 2006.
Small tea growers who have already commenced or completed planting of tea should submit their applications for financial assistance before 31st March 2006 to the Jorhat Tea Board Office, after will such applications will fall under the purview of the new specific guidelines.
