Run (Daud), written & directed Shiva Kumar BK, is a typical action movie shot mostly in outdoor locations with Kartik Kumar and Yana in the lead roles. The plot is simple but a leap forward from the regular fare we see in Nagamese movie. The storyline is topical, dealing with the issue of invasion of information technology in modern life. A group of youth is camping in jungle for a ‘digital de-addiction’ camp, when one of them unintentionally captured a murder, being committed by a group of Gangster in her handy cam. While she is killed upon discovery, she managed to transfer the same to the hero. The rest of the story is about the event that unfolded afterwards with the gangsters desperate to retrieve the video. They are literally on a run since then, and thus the title. The movie is technically comparable to any regular bollywood fare, with visually pleasing cinematography as well as competent sound editing. However, a sharper editing would have made the movie crisper and added more adrenaline to the plotline publicised as a suspense thriller. The dialogue delivery and the screenplay needs room for improvement, though given fact that most of the performers were first timers, it is far better than other movies produced in Nagaland. While, the casts assayed their role competently, the side characters were far more superior in their performances. Overall, a commendable job given constraints in Nagaland and the filmmakers as well as the cast deserves credits for the final product.
