On the last day of withdrawal of nomination papers, the NDPP candidate S Keoshu Yimchunger was declared elected uncontested to be a member of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly from 58- Shamator- Chessore by the Returning Officer B Henok Buchem at the ADC office, Shamator on October 13.

Tuensang, October 13 (MExN): S Keoshu Yimchunger, the official candidate of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has been declared duly elected uncontested to fill the vacancy caused in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly by the demise of Toshi Wungtung.
As per a press release from Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, V Shashank Shekhar, the NDPP candidate was declared elected uncontested by the Returning Officer for 58-Shamator-Chessore (ST) AC, B Henok Buchem, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shamator, after the last hour for withdrawal of candidature on October 13.
He added that only one nomination was received by the Returning Officer till the last date of nominations on October 8. The nomination papers were taken up for scrutiny on October 11 and found valid, the release added.
The Election Commission announced the schedule for holding Bye-election to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly from 58-Shamator-Chessore (ST) AC on September 28, 2021. The date of poll was fixed for October 30.
