Punglwa, July 8 (MExN): To encourage students to look beyond their textual knowledge and to establish a relationship between theory and application of the learnt concepts, inter house quiz competition was conducted at Sainik School Punglwa (SSP) on July 7. SSP in a press release stated the quiz contest is one of the important annual co-curricular activities conducted with an objective of team building, broadening cadets’ horizon of knowledge and at the same time preparing them to appear in UPSC, National Defence Academy examination wherein general awareness of cadets are tested in different fields. The event is also important as the position obtained in the quiz competition is added to the most coveted Cock House Trophy presented to the best house of the year, it said. A total of twelve cadets participated in the contest – a team of two cadets each representing the six mother houses of the school. In a tough fought competition Saramati house represented by Cadet Ravi Kumar and Cadet Dongwang Lowang emerged as winners and lifted the coveted trophy of the inter-house quiz competition 2017-18. Doyang house represented by Cadet Tekapong Longkumer and Cadet Lenmin Perme stood at second position followed by Cadet Rishu Raj and Cadet Chiging Chilayang of Tizu House in the third position. Gp Capt Sanjay Gaekwad, Principal SSP gave away the certificates and the trophy to the winners.
