Sainik School Local Board of Administration meeting held

Jalukie, May 23 (MExN): The XIX Local Board of Administration (LBA) meeting of Sainik School Punglwa, Nagaland was held on May 22 chaired by Maj Gen Atanu K Pattaniak, SM, Chief of Staff, HQ 3 Corps and Chairman, LBA.  

A press release received here stated that Gp Capt Sharad R Keskar, Principal SSP and Member Secretary, LBA presented various activities undertaken by the school during the last six months. The major issues included work projects under development at the school, steps taken to improve the academics and overall development of the cadets and future projects to be undertaken with the help of Government of Nagaland and Ministry of Defence and the school Budget for next F/Y was perused. The members of the board were apprised on the financial grant and the infrastructural development that are being taken up and sanctioned.  

Maj Gen AK Pattanaik, SM emphasised on the role of teachers in providing quality education to the cadets and teachers’ contribution towards betterment of school results and making cadet a better citizen. The Chairman also emphasised that school should focus on academics and inculcate ethics and moral values in cadets.  

The meeting was also attended by Brig Harsh Chhibber, HQ 3 Corps, Pollem Tep, Addl Director (School Education) and Nodal, Dr D J Rajkhowa, Jt Director, ICAR, Jharnapani, Lt Col M Kiran Meitei, Adm Officer, SSPN, Er Kedovisie B Meyase as Parents’ representative, Er Kelechutuo Pienyu, SDO, PWD (H), Edn Div (Ex Er rep), Yanthungbemo Kikon, EAC, Peren (DC Peren rep).  

The Chairman, LBA further interacted with Class XII cadets and motivated them. He advised them to study hard so as to qualify the UPSC NDA entrance exam and SSB, stating Indian Armed Forces still remains a charismatic career option.
