Peren, July 30 (MExN): Sainik School Punglwa concluded its Inter-House Basketball Championship, held from July 21 to 29, with Pauna House and Saramati House emerging champions in the Sub-Junior and Junior categories, respectively.
The championship, organised for the Junior, Sub-Junior and Girls categories, aimed to promote healthy competition, sportsmanship and camaraderie among the cadets.
Principal Col (Dr) Smita Misra attended both the inaugural ceremony and the finals of the tournament.
In the Sub-Junior final, Pauna House defeated Shilloi House to clinch the championship title. Cadet Keneinguzo Pienyu was adjudged the Best Player in the category for his outstanding performance and leadership on the court.

In the Junior category, Saramati House defeated Doyang House in the final to lift the title. Cadet Lijingse Sangtam was named the Best Player for his impressive display of skill and agility throughout the competition.
The championship also featured finals in the Girls category, with cadets displaying their basketball skills before an enthusiastic gathering of students and faculty members.
The winners and runners-up were felicitated by the Principal, who presented awards in recognition of their performances.
The school said the championship provided cadets with an opportunity to showcase their sporting talent while reinforcing values of discipline, perseverance and teamwork.
