Sainik School Punglwa LBA meeting held

Peren, November 13 (MExN): The XVIII Local Board Administration (LBA) meeting of Sainik School Punglwa was held on November 13 in the presence of Maj Gen Atanu K Pattanaik SM, Chief of Staff, HQ 3 Corps and Chairman, LBA.

Gp Capt Sanjay Gaekwad, principal of the school and LBA Member Secretary presented on various activities undertaken by the school during the last six months. The major issues included work projects under development at the school, steps taken to improve the academics and overdevelopment of the cadets, and future projects to be undertaken with the help of Government of Nagaland and Ministry of Defence, informed a press release.  

During the meeting, the board deliberated on issues pertaining to the infrastructure projects, development of the school and the various steps taken to improve the NDA intake of the cadets. The members of the board were apprised on the financial grant and the infrastructural development that are being taken up.  

Maj Gen Pattanaik in the discussion emphasized the role of teachers in providing quality education to the cadets towards betterment of school results especially in higher classes. He advised teachers to correlate theory with real life situations for better comprehension and get cadets’ thinking involved while teaching, so that the cadets can relate the subject for better assimilation.  

The meeting was also attended by Lt Col Abhishek Bhardwaj, SO 1 (Edn) 3 Corps, Lt Col M Kiran Meitei, Administrative Officer, Sqn Ldr Sanjeev Chaudhary, Vice Principal, Pollem Tep, Addl Director (School Education) & Nodal Officer and Er Kedovisie B Meyase as parents representatives.  

After the LBA meeting, Maj Gen Pattanaik congratulated the two cadets of the school who qualified UPSC (NDA) written exam and will be appearing for SSB interview in the coming month.  

The LBA Chairman also inaugurated the war trophy, a T-55 Battle tank (OBE) allotted to the school by HQ 3 Corps as a goodwill gesture. The school thanked the COS, HQ 3 Corps and Chairman LBA for taking personal interest in getting the battle tank reach its present location from Pune.  

The Chairman further interacted with the class XII cadets and motivated them. He advised them to study hard so as to qualify the UPSC NDA entrance exam and SSB, stating Indian armed forces still remains a charismatic career option.
