KOHIMA: The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has reiterated its stand to ban the sale of wild animals and bird in the market within its jurisdiction.

The KMC has been working in close coordination and cooperation with all concerned departments as well as other organizations acting in the interest of the people of Kohima.

As such when the related department and the office of the Kohima Deputy Commissioner notified the ban on sale of wild life, the KMC had promptly responded by keeping a close check on the markets and taking appropriate actions against the violators.

Stating this in a release, the Market and Slaughter House Convenor Vizopal Chaya appealed to the public to immediately report to its office in case of any anomaly or ground of complain in whatever aspects relating to the ban on wildlife in the markets of Kohima.

The ban will affect the sale of wild animals at an exorbitant price which is a common sight in most of the local markets.
