SAMARTH Hackathon 2026 grand finale to be held in Kohima on April 11

Kohima, April 9 (MExN): The grand finale of the SAMARTH Northeast Innovation Hackathon 2026 will be held on April 11 at the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Kohima.

Funded by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, the event will bring together top student teams from all eight northeastern states to present innovative solutions in artificial intelligence, robotics, electronics and digital technologies.

The hackathon aims to promote innovation, problem-solving and hands-on learning among school students.

SAMARTH (Students Advancing Mindsets in AI, Robotics, Technology and Digital Hardware) is a flagship initiative of NIELIT Kohima, covering all eight northeastern states and focusing on equipping young minds with future-ready skills.

The programme was launched by Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on November 14, 2025, at NIELIT Kohima.

The grand finale will feature live project demonstrations, expert evaluations and recognition of top-performing teams. Winners will be awarded prize money of Rs 1 lakh along with certificates.

The event is expected to highlight the growing innovation ecosystem and technological potential of students in the northeastern region.
