SAMETI conducts online training on women empowerment

Medziphema, July 25 (MExN): State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) organised two-day online training program on ‘women empowerment through agricultural entrepreneurship’ for ATMA functionaries at SAMETI, Medziphema on July 23 and 24. 

Dr Watimongla Jamir, Director SAMETI & Principal IETC i/c in her inaugural speech gave a brief overview of women entrepreneurship and explained about the important role played by women in society in general and agriculture in particular. 

Resource persons for the training were Dr Mary N Odyuo, Assistant Professor, Department of Rural Development, NU: SASRD, Medziphema and Tiajungla Longchar, Deputy Project Director SAMETI, Medziphema. Topics on Rural Women Empowerment through Agripreneurship: Issues and Prospects; Empowering Women in Agribusiness; Role of women in Agriculture and Social & Economic Empowerment through Agri & Allied Enterprises were covered. 

The training saw a good turnout of participants from all districts of the state. Feedback was received from all the participant and e-Certificates was forwarded to the participants.
