Santosh Trophy Nagaland team plays exhibition match with Asufii FA

In conjunction with its rigorous practice for zonal qualifying round of the upcoming 78th Senior Men’s National Football Championship (Santosh Trophy 2024-25), the Nagaland Football Association (NFA) Santosh Trophy team today played an exhibition match with Asufii Football Academy (Manipur) at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.

The players were introduced to Benei M Lamthiu, MLA & General Secretary, NFA and NFA president K. Neibou Sekhose before the commencement of the match.

NFA’s Santosh Trophy team head coach Roko Angami informed that the Nagaland team will leave for Assam on November 17 for this zonal qualifying round matches.

In this qualifying round matches, Nagaland will face Assam on November 20, Meghalaya on November 22 and Arunachal Pradesh on November 24.

For North Eastern states, Nagaland has been placed in Group E with Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. Group D category includes; Tripura, Manipur, Sikkim and Mizoram.

In this zonal qualifying round matches, Roko, who is also OSD (Sports), Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Government of Nagaland, will be assisted by assistant coach Khwetelhi Thopi along with Zakielietuo Seletsu as physio, Vizovor Liezietsu as goal keeper coach including one official from NFA as team manager.
