Nagaland football team today defeated host Assam in its first match of the zonal qualifying round of the 78th Senior Men’s National Football Championship (Santosh Trophy 2024-25) in Assam.
Nagaland defeated Assam 2-1. Ayenmonba Chang opened the account for Nagaland in the early 6th minutes while Neisede Peseyie increased the score tally in the 12th minute.
A solitary goal for Assam came through penalty in the second half.
Nagaland will next face Meghalaya on November 22 and Arunachal Pradesh on November 24. Nagaland team is led by head coach Roko Angami, assistant coach Khwetelhi Thopi, Manager cum Goal keeping coach Vizovor Lezietsu and Physio Zakielatuo Seletsu.
