Dimapur, August 25 (MExN): The Southern Angami Public Organization (SAPO) has told the Tenyimi People’s Organization (TPO) that it is “withdrawing our participation from the long-pending Kezol issue.” The SAPO issued a note today addressed to the president of the TPO. The SAPO stated to have read in the Media that the TPO “had discussion with leaders at APO hall” to settle “Dzukou and Kezol issue.” The issue pending settlement before the TPO’s standing committee is “Kezol only” the SAPO said in its letter. “It is unthinkable to know that TPO standing committee had dragged Dzukou into a controversy. Therefore SAPO would not let other ancestral properties into controversies by participating before standing committee,” the SAPO stated in its letter issued by Zadeho Rikha, President.
The letter said further that the SAPO has lost confidence in the standing committee. “…as a result we cannot expect any reasonable settlement rather it may invite fresh enmity between two communities. Therefore, in order to maintain status quo between SAPO and Mao community, we will not participate in Kezol issue with the standing committee,” the letter stated.
