DIMAPUR, October 5 (MExN): The Southern Angami Youth Organization (SAYO) has condemned the deed of SS 2nd Lt Mughato Yepthomi s/o Khunito Yepthomi and SS Sgt Major Zukiho Awomi s/o Lt Akheto Awomi. According to a press note issued by SAYO Action Committee Convenor Khisanol Viswentso and SAYO President Kekhriihol Mekro, the duo had threatened the “public with a pistol on October 3 at Phesama. “To the Angamis, threat to lives is a deed/act of murder which is vehemently condemned and punishable to the extent of ostracizing from the community”, stated the SAYO press note.
The press note claimed that the two accused had also admitted to the act of burning down the truck on September 16, 2012 at Jakhama National Highway 29 within the jurisdiction of the Southern Angami. Further the above two accused are “habitual offender belonging to the NSCN (K) in the SAYO area and as such the accused deserve all punishable act in accordance with the law”, the press note added. Also the SAYO stated that the press release of the NSCN (K) published in the local dailies on October 5 was a “distorted account of October 3, 2012”. The SAYO urged upon all public and any organization to refrain from such kind of act within their area failing which action will be initiated against any.
