Sazolie College 18th freshers’ day was held at Vineizono Hall on July 26.
Kohima, July 27 (MExN): The Cultural Committee of Sazolie College organised the 18th freshers’ day under the theme “Embrace the unknown and carve your own” at Vineizono Hall on July 26.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Gopal Chetri, Principal, Sazolie College emphasised the importance of having a clear goal and a plan to achieve it. He reminded the students to be discerning, stay away from bad influences, and pursue healthy friendships with similar determination. He stated that the short stay at the college would be a period of discovery and transformation, an opportunity to forge meaningful connections, discover one’s interests, and grow into compassionate and responsible individuals with a strong sense of purpose.
Dr Chetri reminded the students that an educational degree is a transformative power that can shape their future, ignite their passion, and empower them to make a difference. He quoted Nelson Mandela: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
Noting that with the advancement of science and technology, human values are losing their ground, he encouraged the students to preserve and conserve good moral, ethical, and traditional values. He challenged the students to work hard and carve their own future, as nobody can be their substitute. He concluded with the famous proverb, “As you sow, so shall you reap.”
Yashijungla, a Semester III student, chaired the formal session, and Lumtiba L Sangtam, President of the Sazolie College Students’ Council, gave a welcome address. Nzanthung Kikon, Chaplain, pronounced a special prayer for the freshers.
