With the number of vehicle ownerships in Nagaland climbing every year, particularly in Kohima and Dimapur (totalling about 261,630 registered vehicles so far as per government data), a need towards providing premium services for automobiles was the need of the hour revealed Lanchung Pamei, proprietor of SB3 Coating, Nagaland.

As such, a new branch of SB3 Coating (detailing store) Nagaland was launched here in Walford Road, Dimapur in the midst of special guests, families and friends alike on May 20.

Speaking during the opening of the detailing store, Mongkum Jamir, President of Business Association Nagaland (BAN), expressed his enthusiasm in seeing young Naga entrepreneurs contributing to the overall economy of the state. “Today we are here celebrating the winners,” he shared.

“The quality of services we provide to the people should be excellent and consistent,” Jamir said while encouraging Pamei and other likeminded Naga businessmen to continue being job-creators and not give up on their endeavours.

Besides that, he gave his views on the practice of collecting receipts at entry gates which has greatly damaged the business environment of the state. Nonetheless, he hoped that with the new government order, stopping collection of taxes at all entry gates, things will gradually improve. “It is up to the transporters now, whether they will continue to make excuses in increasing the price of commodities and we (BAN) will be watching them,” he noted.

‘It takes time, resources and enthusiasm’
Speaking with Lanchung Pamei, he shared with The Morung Express that he was a graduate of St Joseph’s College, Jakhama where he did his BBA. “Later on I went to Delhi to work in the corporate sector for experience purposes,” he said.

As he was a car enthusiast since his childhood days he admitted that his dream was to go venturing into the world of car business. “Initially I thought of opening a garage but as the market was so saturated everywhere in the state, I decided to narrow down my prospects,” he remarked.

His niche approach to the business came when he chanced upon an idea of setting up a paint servicing centre for all type of cars. “Whether it be electric vehicles, diesel or petrol cars, all of them need paint regardless of their demand in the market so I settled upon this current idea from then on,” said Pamei.

He tied up with SB3 Coating, after careful review and research of all companies as it was an authentic US brand that provides top-quality products to its customers.

“All the products are imported from countries like US, Germany, Australia and South Korea,” he disclosed.

However, he said that the journey towards his goal was not easy as, “it takes time, resources and enthusiasm along with having a little patience” to make everything possible. Pamei also mentioned that his two detailing stores, the other located in Chüomükedima, employ a total of 15 staffs.

SB3 Coating Nagaland, first began their operations with only home services in December 2020. Steadily on July 17, last year, they launched their first detailing store in Chüomükedima. All of their detailing centres provide top of the line ceramic coating, paint protection films, paint sealant and wax, paint correction, interior detailing and many others. They are also among the affiliates of Fingerprint Dimapur.
