SBAK Festival of Praise concludes

Zunheboto, March 3 (MExN): The Festival of Praise, a youth ministry event organised by Sumi Baptist Churches Association (SBAK) concluded on March 3. A press release from media cell SBAK informed that the festival witnessed God’s work among the lives of young people which was attended by nearly 1600 youths.


The second day of the festival began with a call to worship by Dr. Pihoto Khala, Chairman, Executive Council, Anderson Theological College. He exhorted the youth and encourage them to inculcate the value of prayer and divine obedience in their lives. He further challenged the youths to overcome few minutes of pleasure to devote their time towards their career. Dr. Shitovi Yeptho, Principal ATC who addressed the congregation on Saturday morning described how Jesus would be worshipped in Heavenly life as well. On the musical night, Lika and Livitoli representing Sumi Church Mokochung Youth presented a special number followed by musical bands like; Beyond Band, Sumi Baptist Church Kohima Youth worship team, ZTSBC Youth Choir and a band from Satakha Town.


Dr. G. Kanato Chophy, New India Foundation Fellow also exhorted the youth to genuinely seek God’s Kingdom first and emphasised that every young Naga should aspire to bring a socio-political reformation in our land in today’s fourth tech-revolution. He lamented the misuse use of social media and said, ‘Smartphone have become like loaded guns in the hands of monkey’ and encouraged the congregation to be more cautious with the negative impact of social media.


On Sunday morning G. Kaito Aye, Minister, Agriculture & Cooperation, Government of Nagaland graced the occasion as a special invitee. The Minister stressed on the role the churches has to play to bring an amicable solution to the vexed Naga nationalism issue and further said that today’s youth would be the main beneficiary and for which the Minister called upon young people to be positive and be an agent of change. The festival ended with an electrifying worship led by Sinai Music and a powerful sermon by Rev. Mulato Chishi Executive Secretary where lot of young men and women came forward to give their lives to Christ, Executive Secretary SBAK.
