SBI Sanjeevani Clinic on Wheels holds health awareness camp in Kiphire

Health awareness camp was organised at the PM Shri Government High School in Yangphi, Kiphire on October 14.

Kiphire, October 14 (MExN): In an initiative to promote health and hygiene among students, a health awareness camp was organised at the PM Shri Government High School in Yangphi, Kiphire on October 14. The camp was conducted by Nature, the implementing agency for SBI Sanjeevani – Clinic on Wheels.

The key address was delivered by Dr P Kumaresan on the theme “Say No to Tobacco,” where he detailed the severe health risks associated with tobacco consumption. He explained the mechanisms of addiction, the importance of resisting peer pressure, and the detrimental effects of tobacco on vital organs, oral health, and its strong links to cancers. He urged students to commit to a tobacco-free life to safeguard their future well-being and productivity.

Kharila Sangtam led a practical demonstration on the “Eight Steps of Hand Washing,” meticulously outlining the process from wetting hands to using a towel to turn off the faucet, reinforcing the critical role of personal hygiene in preventing disease.

Lipiri Anar, Assistant Headmaster of the host school, expressed gratitude to the organizing teams, noting the timeliness and necessity of such an awareness programme. 

Longtili C Sangtam, Project Lead for SBI Sanjeevani – Clinic on Wheels in Nagaland  encouraged the students to become ambassadors of health within their communities.

The informative session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, where students actively engaged, making the event an enriching experience focused on fostering healthy habits and preventive healthcare.
