9 villages around Dimapur covered from July 12 to 24
Dimapur, July 24 (MExN): The ‘SBI Sanjeevani’, a mobile medical van service launched on July 1, 2021 has started making visits to the villages from July 12 and is rendering medical services to people in the rural areas four days a week.
From July 12 to 24, a total of 9 villages around Dimapur- Khriezephe, Diezephe, Tsithrongse, Murise, Bade, Urra, Selouphe, Samaguri and Toulazuma were provided free medical check up and free medicines, informed a press release received here today.
174 patients were examined and provided with free medicines. One patient had to be taken to the hospital on emergency case. Many patients with very serious illness were referred to the hospitals, the release added.
The mobile medical van is accompanied by a doctor, a nurse, one of the SBI Foundation staff from AIDA and the driver.
Dr Rev Sr Rosmy and Sr Maris (B Sc Nurse) from St Joseph Pain and Palliative Care Center Dimapur, Dr Rosaline Yekhali Chishi and Dr Rev Sr Rosemary UFS from Christian Institute of Health and Research Services, Dimapur together with Rev Sr Celine accompanied the mobile medical van to the villages.
Most of these patients were not going to the hospitals mainly due to their financial burden. Moreover, the COVID-19 pandemic has forced people to stay at home, due to which the people in rural areas are trying to bear much of the sicknesses by themselves, it added.
In such a situation, the arrival of SBI Sanjeevani (mobile medical van) at their door step was not just a blessing but also a boost for their health, the release stated.
AIDA also expressed gratitude to its other supporters like the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research, Dimapur (CIHSR) and St Joseph Pain and Palliative care centre Dimapur and the office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dimapur particularly to Dr I Moatemjen and Dr Antoli, Deputy CMO.
