Dimapur, June 24 (MExN): ‘Access North East’, an evening daily newspaper was launched at Ashoka Road, New Delhi on June 22, 2013. SC Jamir, Governor of Odisha (Orissa), formally released it. He congratulated Suvendu Roy Chawdhury, the publisher, editor and owner of the North East News Agency for launching the newspaper at the National capital Delhi.
In his speech, Jamir encouraged the people of the North East to remain alert with the forthcoming developmental changes which would happen under the ‘Look East Policy’. He also said the emergence of globalization and economic integration under the Look East Policy would give much advantage to the people of North East India.
Roy Chawdhury, who is the editor of Access North East, said, “The main objective of the newspaper is to act as a bridge between the North East India and the rest of the country. It will highlight issues concerning the people of North East India. It will also highlight news and development from home to the North East people living in metropolitan cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, etc. Hopefully, the newspaper will also act as a window for people who would be interested to know more about the beautiful North East Region. In the near future the newspaper will spread its wings to Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune and Kolkata.
