Kohima, July 14 (MExN): The guidance and counseling cell of SCERT, Nagaland organized a career conference programme for 655 selected students of Don Bosco College and Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Kohima on July 14 at DBHSS hall with Sarita Yadav IAS, SDO (Civil) office of the ADC, Peren, Kelhouseto Nakhro, Deputy Secretary, NPSC Kohima and C. Wangan Phom, NCS (EAC), Kohima as resource persons.
Sarita Yadav, IAS, SDO (Civil) spoke on ‘How to prepare for civil service examination conducted by UPSC.’ She highlighted on the basic minimum requirement, the examination process, change in scheme of exam, the subject areas that one must give due attention to and also recommended good study materials for one’s reference that will aid them in preparing for civil service examination. “It is only when you bring about positive change in the life of people that can call yourself as a successful person,” she said while encouraging the students to read newspapers and magazine and stay up to date.
Kelhouseetuo Nakkhro, Deputy Secretary of the NPSC spoke on how the NPSC exams are being conducted in Nagaland. He gave some tips on how to prepare for the NPSC exam and also cautioned the students that the government is not in the position to give job to all. He revealed that Kohima Science College and SSARD Medziphema are the two institutions that produced quality and successfully students who cleared NPSC.
The third session was addressed by C Wangphom, NCS EAC, and Kohima. He spoke on how to prepare for the civil examination conducted by the NPSC and how he prepared and managed to crake the exam. He said Problem of unemployment is on the increase, numbers of posts are decreasing and only hardworking people are able to achieve success.
