Scholarships worth Rs 1.5 Cr announced for 290 IAS aspirants from Nagaland

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 1 (MExN): Nagaland State Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio has announced scholarship worth Rs 82 lacs for 100 youth under Chief Minister Corpus Fund for deserving and talented IAS aspirants of Nagaland to undergo free of cost coaching from ALS IAS.


A DIPR report stated that ALS IAS is India's largest IAS coaching network with more than 75 centers across India including 30 in the North East, along with 2837 selections in UPSC till date, including 154 selections last year. ALS has had similar sponsorships for IAS training from Governments of Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Tripura, Mizoram and Manipur in the past.


National Sales Head ALS, Prateek Bhattacharya also announced a scholarship worth Rs 72 lacs for 190 aspirants under ALS CSR Initiative for Youth of Nagaland. 


Together this announcement has created an opportunity for 290 IAS aspirants from the state to avail scholarships worth Rs 1.5 Crores.


Selection of the top 100 students sponsored under CM Corpus Fund will be based as per the reservation policy of Government of Nagaland. The scholarship exam will be conducted on October 12 in all district HQs.


Application forms will be made available from October 3 in all DC offices with October 10 as the last date of submission. Results of the examination will be generated on October 16 and batches will commence from October 21.


The report informed that selected students will undergo training at any of the six ALS authorised learning centers in Kohima, Dimapur, Mokokchung, Zuhenboto, Wokha and Mon via VSAT technology with live transmission of classes being conducted in ALS Delhi campus. Dedicated academic mentors from Delhi will also be sent by ALS to Nagaland to monitor, motivate and guide the students during their training along with monthly visits which will be made by IAS/IPS officers serving in Nagaland, it added.
