SEAS set to assess learning levels in Nagaland

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 18 (MExN): In compliance with the recent directive from the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi, the State Education Achievement Survey (SEAS) for the year 2023 is slated to take place in Nagaland.

The survey will encompass a total of 1643 schools, comprising 805 government schools, 800 private schools, and 38 central schools. This comprehensive evaluation is scheduled for November 3, 2023, simultaneously with surveys in other states and union territories, a DIPR report has informed.

The primary objective of SEAS is to assess the learning levels of students in classes 3, 6, and 9. The SEAS endeavor will involve 36,833 students and engage 1,843 field investigators. In preparation for this vital exercise, orientations for the district nodal officers; block coordinators, and field investigators assigned to SEAS will be conducted in a phased manner during October 2023.

Given the paramount importance of SEAS, adequate arrangements must be made to ensure that the classes in the 1,643 sample schools mentioned are not engaged in any other activities on November 3, 2023. All stakeholders associated with SEAS, namely the Directorate of School Education, SCERT, NBSE, and Samagra Shiksha, have been directed to make the necessary preparations to ensure the successful execution of this survey in the state.

In light of the importance and urgency of this upcoming survey, a one-day training session will be organized on October 20 at 10 AM at the Capital Convention Centre, near the Secretariat Complex, Kohima. District Education Office (DEO), District Mission Authority (DMA), and District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), have been directed to mandatorily attend this training. Travel allowances (TA) and daily allowances (DA) will be provided by the norms outlined by Samagra Shiksha.
